BROWN COMES HOME 4TH IN SOUTH BOSTON 150

RURAL HALL, N.C. (April 18, 2011) – Tim Brown, driver of the No. 02 Hayes Jewelers and Wall 2 Wall modified, comes home with a 4th place finish in the South Boston 150 on Sunday afternoon after a rain delay on Saturday.

Gaining four positions in the point standings, Brown now sits in fifth, 95 markers behind point leader, George Brunnhoelzl III.

Brown and the team made several changes to the car in a shortened practice. NASCAR made the decision to cancel qualifying, and the drivers would start the race based on last year's owners points. The Rocket would line up 10th, and 19 cars would take the green flag just before 5:00 pm. It was an exciting, caution-filled race.

Brown exemplified patience at the beginning of the race and would drop to 12th, but by lap 70 broke into the top five, and at lap 115 would move into fourth. Brown and the No. 25 got together, which knocked the tow out on the No.02. With the tow problem, Brown couldn't make up any further ground in the closing laps and would finish fourth behind Christopher, Brunnhoelzl and Brewer.

"Our goal today was to leave South Boston back in the top five in points, which we accomplished. The car was good, and Tim did a great job, but just couldn't move forward after the tow problem. We look forward to going to Caraway next weekend", said the Lythgoe's.

Brown received the “Featherlite Most Improved Driver Award” of the race, which is based on your race finish compared to your previous race finish.

This was a good points day and Brown and the T and C Motorsports crew are focused on heading to Caraway Speedway on Saturday, April 23rd, for the final race before the two month break--once again contending for their first win of the season!
