"THE ROCKET" TIM BROWN
Tim Brown, from Cana, VA, started his career in 1991 driving in the modified series at Bowman Gray stadium (BGS) where he was Rookie of the Year. He was also the Rookie of the year for the Southern Modified Auto Racing Team (S.M.A.R.T) in 1992.
Tim has 110 pole awards, 68 feature wins and 8 time Track Championships (1996, 1997, 1998, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2009) at the NASCAR oldest track at Bowman Gray Stadium.
Joining the ranks of PeeWee Jones (1956-1960) and Ralph Brinkley (1980-1982), Tim is the third driver to ever win 3 consecutive championships in the 61 years at BGS.
In 2007, Tim set a new track record of 13.06 with 12 consecutive poles (12 races). Then in 2008, he set the new track record at 12.96 and is still the only driver to hold that record.
Not only a record holder at the Bowman Gray Stadium, Tim has also finished 2nd in the Whelen Southern Modified Tour for the last three years. As a young driver, Tim has high hopes of becoming one of the superstars in the sport of Nascar Racing.
